A Personal Message from Monica

The Ecstasy of Mazzafrissa

Dear guest, have you ever wondered why happy people write fewer reviews than those who are dissatisfied?

I have wondered about this many times. Despite receiving so many sincere compliments at the desk, only 1% of these wonderful people actually decide to write a review. I tried to understand why, and it turns out to be something that concerns us all, as it deeply touches the way we experience emotions.

There is a scientific, almost magical reason, linked to the biochemistry of pleasure. When we fall in love, or when we savor dishes that awaken the memory of a grandmother’s loving kitchen—like our Mazzafrissa, with the smoothness of fresh cream, the sweetness of Prickly Pear syrup, and the wholesome goodness of Sardinian flour—the brain enters a state of pure ecstasy.

In those moments, we are immersed in a peak of dopamine. The mind is satisfied, the heart is full. And this is where something paradoxical happens: when we say a passionate "I love you," or when we express a heartfelt "Thank you, everything was exquisite!", we are releasing that positive energy. For the brain, in that moment, the circle is closed: the joy has been expressed and consumed in the warmth of the encounter.

For those who are dissatisfied, however, the process is the opposite. Nervous energy remains trapped and seeks an outlet, driving them to write immediately to find relief. This is why, in the digital world, criticism seems to travel faster than smiles: those who are happy have already given their light through their voice, leaving it in the arms of a loved one or within the walls of a restaurant.

For a place like Agrisole, your written voice is the lifeblood that helps us joyfully protect our authenticity and traditions. This is our philosophy.

I ask you for a small gesture of friendship: do not let that precious energy fade once you leave our home. Give us 30 seconds of your time while you are still seated at your table, while you still feel the warmth of the Mazzafrissa in your heart. Help us tell the world that the authentic Sardinia has a flavor that deserves to be protected, along with the people who work here with such dedication.

Turn your smile into a review.

With immense gratitude, Monica
